Google's top set of products, Android and Chrome will not be merged and will exist as separate products. These words have been stamped by Eric Schmidt, chairman, Google Inc who was speaking at the Google's Big Tent event in the capital today. “Chrome and Android operating systems will remain separate products, although there could be more 'commonality' between them,” he said in a chat with Guardian’s Alan Rusbridger. He also added that both will remain separate for a long time and the search-engine giant will not look to disturb the balanced nature of these products.
Chrome was primarily created to generate competition in the Web browser ecosystem and the brand has quickly become one of the most preferred browsers.

The rumours about Android and Chrome being emerged started to fuel when Sundar Pichai, an IIT Alumni and head of Chrome, was given the responsibility to head Google's two big products, Android as well as Chrome, after Andy Rubin, co-founder, Android decided to call it quits and work on other Google products.
Talking with reference to the debacle of Nexus products in India, Schmidt apologised for lack of Nexus devices in the Indian market and re-iterated that Google was working to bring them to the country in the coming months, which should offer optimism to large Android user base in the country.
