So far Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android have been ruling the market when it comes to smartphones. However, there could be intense competition in the market, with the entry of Linux and Mozilla smartphones. The latest news is that these phones could make their entry in the market this year itself.

It is a known fact that both Apple and Android have the maximum market share in the growing smartphone market, with BlackBerry and Windows Phone battling it out for the third place, as reported by Herald Sun.
Giving an insight into their readiness to enter the market, the Mozilla Foundation who have developed the Firefox browser and a new mobile operating system, claims to have 17 operators in place and plans Firefox OS phones in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela.

While this has surely surprised many across the globe, some analysts feel that the brand is trying to distance itself from Google and Android, which is free on the face of it but offers advertising possibilities to Google.
